Creative Work Doesn’t Always Need Pressure

Creative work doesn’t always need pressure. Wouldn’t you rather create for the sheer pleasure of it, rather than trying to prove something? You just turn on your creative juices and let them flow. I know I just commented the other day on a Seth Godin post. Ok, I really like his insights and he inspires me to write. Seth Godin’s blog today talks about Diablo Cody who won an Oscar for writing the film Juno. She replied in an interview that she felt no pressure to live up to or top her previous performance. For her it was about treasuring her previous movie making experience and fully enjoying a new adventure in creation.
Sensationalist media wants to make it about the trauma and drama of success. What if success wasn’t a goal, but a result you get when you’re true to yourself and honor your creative work? What do you think? I’d love to hear your comments.
